nucleareurope actively engages with industrial stakeholders, policymakers at WNE 2025

From 4 to 6 November, the 2025 World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) was organised in Paris, gathering over 1 000 exhibitors from over 80 countries, and attracting over 25 000 visitors. As part of the exhibition, nucleareurope showcased its activities and policy priorities in its booth, connected with many industrial actors and policy makers, discussed essential policy questions in dedicated panel discussions, and entered partnerships with fellow organisations.

As part of the exhibition, nucleareurope Director General Emmanuel Brutin participated in a European Commission organised workshop on 4 November to discuss the Nuclear Illustrative Programme (PINC). In his intervention, he welcomed the PINC’s assessment of upcoming nuclear investments, but stressed the need for concrete proposals to support these investments.

On 6 November, nucleareurope also participated in a panel discussion entitled “Beyond Technology: Engagement as a Strategic Enabler for Success”. Co-organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the GIFEN, and moderated by nucleareurope Communications and Advocacy Director Jessica Johnson, the session highlighted the importance of inclusive and transparent stakeholder engagement in nuclear energy development and deployment

Beyond interventions in WNE’s events, nucleareurope also built on its engagement with policymakers and industrial stakeholders through bilateral meetings and official visits. As a highlight of the three days, a delegation of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and members of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) visited the exhibition on 6 November, accompanied by nucleareurope representatives. They also had the opportunity to visit the nucleareurope stand, in the presence of French Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union Cyril Piquemal.

WNE also provided a platform to build on existing partnerships and chart future collaboration pathways. In the framework of the event, nucleareurope built connections and signed multiple declarations and cooperation agreements. The first day of the exhibition saw nucleareurope sign a partnership agreement with Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global, with the goal to cooperate on the key areas of workforce and skills, career development and professional opportunities, as well as exchange of knowledge and experiences to boost a constructive dialogue on the benefits of nuclear energy.

On the same day, nucleareurope President Xavier Ursat and Director General Emmanuel Brutin attended a ceremony unveiling a European Business Nuclear Alliance joint statement which reaffirmed the commitment of European business federations to nuclear energy.

Finally, on the exhibition’s final day, which also marked the opening of COP30 in Brazil, nucleareurope signed a joint declaration with 16 sister associations to call for immediate action in support of investments in low-carbon energy sources.
