nucleareurope animates moving roundtable at Tractebel Energy Forum 2026

On 15 October, nucleareurope Legal & International Relations Director Berta Picamal participated in the Tractebel Energy Forum, which explored the conditions for nuclear policy in the Netherlands to be turned into project delivery.

As part of the event, which gathered over 70 participants from nearly 40 organisations, Berta animated a moving roundtable around the topic “is Europe talking about nuclear – or delivering it?”. The session was held in parallel with 3 other roundtables, with participants switching roundtable every 10 minutes.

The discussion allowed to brainstorm around challenges and opportunities for the nuclear sector within the European context. Specifically, policy developments, technological innovation and industrial readiness were discussed, with participants highlighting the need for enabling policies to support ongoing and future investments.

Following the roundtable, Berta highlighted the key takeaways from the session. She further gave an overview of what Europe currently does, and what it can do in the future, to support the development of a decarbonised, balanced energy system based on nuclear and renewables.
