Nucleareurope welcomes new President Christopher Eckerberg

Brussels, 12 January 2024: nucleareurope is pleased to announce that Christopher Eckerberg has been appointed by the association’s General Assembly as nucleareurope’s President for a two-year period starting on 1 January 2024.   

“As more and more Member States are realizing that nuclear power is part of the solution to Europe’s energy challenges, nucleareurope has an increasingly important role to play in the dialogue between industry and policy makers. I look forward to working with the membership of nucleareurope in preparation for the SMR Industrial Alliance, for example, as well as the new Commission and Parliament” states Mr Eckerberg. “I would also like to thank Jean-Michel Quilichini, for his efforts over the last two years as President of nucleareurope and for laying the foundations for what lies ahead.”

Since April 2021, Christopher has held the position of Vice President, BU Nuclear Decommissioning at Vattenfall.  Prior to this, he was Vice President Innovation, BA Generation at Vattenfall (2017 – 2021) and President of SKB AB (2012 – 2017).
